I work fast when I work with a minimal crew, which is what I prefer. My style is thorough and thoughtful. I am an artist and try to communicate visually a philosophical understanding of the story I am telling. I seek truth, not style. Style creates atmosphere and atmosphere must be informed by truth especially in a world where sound bites and style without substance is far too prevalent! My work means having reason behind camera movement and lighting. It means analysing the script and making the most of pre-production with the director. MY BIO...

 

 

I shot my first film at 15. I have worked a lot on small independent productions in and around London as well as overseas and have shot and lit many shorts and features that have had small releases. I have worked with video, 35mm and super 16mm film. I've worked with and had discussions with many DOPS. My last feature was shown at the ICA.

  

 

I have trained in meisner acting in order to improve my understanding of characters and story and to liberate my emotions so that I can emote visually as a cinematographer. I have developed my eye from working a lot indie budget projects, I am able to create images artfully with very small lighting packages because I am understanding the power of the individual light... I do not shoot industrially or light industrially. Instead I pay attention to the story and it's truth, creating a visual text with a personal and artistic quality. I feel that to create profound work you have to have a deep emotional understanding of life and people first and then secondly you have to have an artistic and well trained eye.
